These apply to all the Reyes plug-ins
MAX shows Duplicate Class ID on initiating.
This is because Max finds two plug-ins that are the same in two different directories. All the Reyes Infografica plug-ins should be in the plugins directory in the Max directory. (Example: C:\3dsmax3\plugins\).
MAX starts well but the plug-in button is disabled.
This only occurs in the commercial versions of the plug-ins and indicates that something has gone wrong during the installation process of the plug-in or that it has not yet been authorized. The solution is to install it again and get it authorized.
METAREYES
Is MetaReyes a multithreading application?
No it is not.
Muscle texturing:
The muscles should be textured by using the modifier Muscle Map. Each muscle can have a different mapping, but all the muscles of a model should have the same material. When texturing primitives in this manner, MetaReyes will generate the corresponding mapping on the model's fusion surface.
Behavior of the dynamic muscles:
If the behavior of the dynamic muscles (standard as well as bulging, with the dynamics activated) is odd (strange), you should check that they have not been linked to other dynamic muscles because the effects of dynamics will add up.
Optimization of the modeling process:
Occasionally when you work on a specific part of a model the generating process of the whole mesh can be tedious, especially if we only want to see how the part you are modeling at that time will look. In these cases we recommend you use the Clipping Box. To do this you need to create a Dummy Object and name it "CBOX", then select the area you want to see "Inside" or "Outside" in the polygon dialog.
Controlling Polygon Count in a Fusion Surface:
When generating the final mesh you may need more polygons in specific areas. This can be done in two ways:
- By changing the option Render Mesh Density of the muscles in that area of the model to a higher level of resolution.
- By using the Dummy Level Boxes. For this you will need to create a dummy object that contains the muscles of the area in question. You can choose different polygon resolutions by naming this dummy "LEVEL2", "LEVEL3" or "LEVEL4" (from lower to higher resolution).
Muscle Scripting:
Like any other primitive in 3dStudioMax, the script language can be used with the muscles. There are various examples such as "animate_muscles_with maxscript.ms" which generates an animation of the control points, radii, and segment-length of a muscle primitive.
CLOTHREYES
Is ClothReyes a multithreading application?
Yes it is.
What can I do to make the calculations for my scene speed up?
There are different ways to do this:
- You should use meshes made up of faces of similar size; additionally you should avoid using micropolygons and slivers.
- In the dialog that appears when you start the calculation, activate the Ignore Small Polygons option and set the Ignore Under Ratio factor to 0.4 (very small polygons will not be included in the calculation).
- The least number of polygons in the scene the faster the calculation. Suggestion: whenever possible use a mesh of low resolution and apply a subdivision algorithm afterwards. (SurfReyes).
- Make groups of faces with those parts that can collide with each other. This way the parts of objects that will foreseeably not be affected by collisions (such as heads, feet, hands etc) will be excluded from the calculation process.
Is there a list of parameters that correspond to certain cloths?
Due to the fact that size influences the behavior of cloth, it is not possible to make a reliable tabulation of different cloths.
Can you net render with ClothReyes?
Once the scene calculation has been carried out, these are the steps to follow for net rendering:
In the Scene Manager dialog you should configure the path of the calculation files (Configure Paths / Path of ClothReyes for net rendering). It is very important to choose this directory through the net path and not local path; example \\MyAddress\3dsmax3\ClothReyes would be correct, whereas c:\3dsmax3\ClothReyes would be incorrect.
- Share the directory that contains the resulting files from the calculation. All the machines should have access to this directory.
- For commercial versions: It is not necessary to have an authorized plug-in on each machine. This is only necessary for the machine that gives out tasks to the others. The remaining machines taking part in the rendering can use a local copy of the .dll and.dlm files
Can a scene be calculated on two different machines?
Due to the fact that the calculation of each frame depends on the previous one, ClothReyes cannot do this on different machines.
Can you field-render a cloth scene? And apply Motler Blur?
Yes you can.
What does the parameter Elasticity in ClothReyes refer to?
The parameter Elasticity only affects the rigid bodies and refers to the nature of the collisions between these. In physics, a collision is said to be totally elastic when it does not dissipate any energy. On the other hand, in a non-elastic collision, a part of the energy is lost in the form of heat. This way the lower the Elasticity value, the softer the collision among rigid bodies. This Elasticity parameter should not be confused with the usual concept of elasticity in cloth. The elasticity of a cloth depends on the parameters stretch limit and spring constant. The lower the stretch limit and greater the spring constant, the less elasticity the cloth possesses.

Is DirtyReyes a multithreading application?
Yes it is.
Does DirtyReyes preserve materials?
Yes, DirtyReyes preserves old materials and mixes them with the dirt effect.
JETAREYES
Is JetaReyes a multithreading application?
No it is not.
Is JetaReyes a morphing plug-in?
No it does not use morphing processes.
Is there a JetaReyes version in other languages?
JetaReyes comes with a phonetic dictionary in English. The phonetic translator used by JetaReyes depends on a set of phonetic symbols (shown in the documentation) that account ONLY for the different sounds of the English language. Ordinary English words or place names are translated into phonetic symbols by a dictionary included in Jedit. However, you can enter phonetic symbols directly which should be enclosed in square brackets. In order to enter a sentence in a language other than English, you should try to figure out an approximate transcription of the sentence in English phonetic symbols and write the transcription in square brackets.
